Creating your own custom home is a straightforward process and one that Lakeside dedicates ourselves to help you with:

1. First, we discuss your family’s needs, desires, aesthetic preference and budget. We settle on how to get your custom home design started.
2. Next, we find the perfect homesite. If a building site is still needed, we evaluate what’s available in your chosen area and consider the best design options.
3. Then, development of preliminary evaluations, floor plans and specifications begin. We base it on the goals that were originally discussed.
4. At this point, any updates to preliminary construction costs will be figured. We will adjust when necessary to reach your desired budget.
5. Our architects will then produce drawings. These will be a vision of the final product, as we prepare to start construction.
6. Blueprints, general specifications, building agreements and other documentation necessary are all prepared to begin construction.
7. Once papers are signed and finances are secured, we start to build your new home. We’ll provide estimates of time until completion based on the work needing to be done.
8. Finally, when construction is complete, Bob Lundholm (one of our co-founders) makes one last check of your house to ensure everything is perfect. Then it’s time to move in!
